Celebrating 16 Years Serving Our Community!

Brought my daughter in for two extractions this morning and of course it had it's challenges. Dr. Davis and her staff were great with my little one, as they have always been. Due to nervous about the procedure, my daughter began vomiting after having breathe the nitrous for about a minute, after cleaning my daughter up and given her about 10 minutes to pull herself together; the procedure went very smoothly and quickly on the restart. Although still nervous once numb both extractions took less than 5 minutes, with my daughter only feeling pressure. Thank you Dr. Davis and staff! See you all in few moths for cleaning and check ups.
Efficiency in a Doctor's Office Redefined.... We’ve been seeing Dr. Davis for 15 years, and the level of care and efficiency has always been exceptional. Dr. Davis and her team operate like a NASCAR pit crew—highly coordinated, fast, and precise. From check-in and paperwork to X-rays and cleanings, the entire process runs smoothly with little to no waiting. Even with the quick pace, they never compromise on quality—each child receives careful, individualized attention. With three kids, we were in and out in under an hour—truly impressive!
It's such a wonderful environment. The ladies at healthy smiles always make my kids feel so comfortable. The doctor is so patient, and her experience definitely shows in her work. My kids love going to the dentist because of all the ladies at healthy smiles! ❤️
We absolutely LOVE Healthy Smiles! My daughter has been a patient since birth, and she'll be12 this year! We moved to Dallas 10 years ago, and we still commute over an hour for our appointments to date! We love the ENTIRE staff! Doctor Davis, Abigail, and Ms. Lynn are amazing 🤎
I was extremely disappointed for the first time with this place. My daughter has autism 1 and needs a little extra to get through appointments. She came in for a surface cavity fill and I felt like the doctor and the assistants did not try to make it fun for my daughter at all to help her anxiety through the process they jumped straight to telling me she would need to go to the hospital and be put under IV Anastasia to fill the cavity. They could have tried a little harder to make it fun and get through this quick procedure before jumping to putting her through a hospital experience. Not to mention I called a week prior to warn them she was autistic and would need that extra excitement experience to get through the fill. They told me no problem we deal with autistic children all the time and I feel like this is not a place to take your challenged children. We won’t be back unfortunately.

Has your baby gotten her first tooth? You probably felt excited, taking a picture and adding the date to a memory book. Those first baby teeth are an adorable and celebratory occasion for you and your child.

Of course, the appearance of the first baby tooth is also a time to focus on oral hygiene. After all, just like adult teeth, baby teeth can decay if they aren’t cared for properly. Here are tips for preventing decay in your baby’s first teeth.

Have you ever wondered when to start brushing your baby’s teeth? The answer is that you should brush them as soon as they appear above the gumline. Use a rice-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste twice a day to brush your child’s baby teeth, gums, and tongue.

If you’re unsure about cleaning these tiny teeth, here are some tips for cleaning baby teeth from the American Dental Association.

Limit Sugary Snacks to Protect Baby Teeth

Sugary foods and drinks lead to cavities. The sugars stay on the teeth, where bacteria and other substances begin to form plaque. Over time, bacteria in the plaque can cause the tooth’s enamel to wear away and form a cavity.

Provide your young child with a healthy diet and limit juice, candy, and other sugary treats to help prevent cavities and tooth decay.

Use Water in Bedtime Bottles

Your baby or young child might be comforted by having a bottle or sealed cup in bed with them and might even drink from it to fall asleep. However, it’s important that this bottle contain only water. If there is milk, formula, or juice in a baby’s bedtime bottle, the sugars can lead to cavities.

In fact, sleeping with a bottle of juice or milk is a common cause of Baby Bottle Tooth Decay.

Schedule Regular Dental Visits

At Healthy Smiles Children’s Dentistry, we follow the recommendations made by the American Dental Association that babies should have their first dental appointment as soon as those first teeth erupt or by their first birthday.

These early appointments help them feel comfortable at the dentist’s office, as well. We also teach them good oral hygiene habits to practice at home. If we find any problems, we can recommend the most effective treatments.
