We have been seeing Dr Davis since my now 16 year old son was a toddler. She now cares for both of my children’s dental needs. She is efficient but also empathetic and answers all your questions. Highly recommend.

Dr. Davis has been our dentist for almost 10 years. Each visit is a pleasant one with lots of smiles and friendly faces. Her team is responsive and caring. She responded to an emergency dental situation over the weekend within 30 minutes, called in a prescription, and saw us first things the next business day. We are more than pleased with Dr. Davis and the Healthy Smiles team!

frisco children's dentistry

Cavities can impact kids of all ages, but we want to help them avoid these painful complications. Which is why we offer unique preventive treatments designed to help kids avoid cavities and infections. At your Frisco, TX, children’s dental practice, we can help kids avoid the onset of tooth decay.

Cavities in Little Smiles

Just like you, children have a protective layer of enamel that helps prevent injury and cavities. But when kids don’t brush and floss properly, and they consume a lot of sugary and starchy treats, this could lead to plaque buildup that weakens and erodes the enamel. Injury and teeth grinding could also compromise your outer enamel! When this happens, the harmful oral bacteria will reach the inner dentin and cause tooth decay, which needs treatment to avoid infection or premature tooth loss. Our team wants to help your children avoid tooth decay!

Dental Cleanings

Dental cleanings every six months are vital, as this allows our team to remove all plaque and tartar buildup from the teeth. The procedure only takes a few minutes, and helps lower the risk of bad breath, teeth stains, and of course, cavities. You can also help by making sure your kids brush and floss daily in between these office visits.

Fluoride Treatments

Our team can also provide fluoride treatments during each shakeup visit, applying the mineral in a varnish form to the outside of the teeth. Fluoride can strengthen the outer enamel to lower the risk of tooth decay and infection, protecting little smiles. For this reason, we also suggest kids use a fluoride toothpaste. Children three and younger need a rice-sized amount and children three and older need a pea-sized amount.

Dental Sealants

We have another unique treatment option to protect the teeth! With dental sealants, our team can apply a special acrylic coating to the rear teeth. The coating covers them so food and drink particles cannot be stuck between them. The sealants stay in place for up to ten years and significantly lower the risk of tooth decay in little smiles of all ages!

Composite Fillings

What if a cavity has already formed and your child needs treatment? In these cases, our team can provide a composite resin filling that is metal-free and safe for all ages. We can shade these to blend with your smile and offer a more attractive appearance. In addition to stopping decay, these can be used to reshape teeth and mask minor cosmetic concerns in one visit too. If you have any questions, then contact our team today!
