I did my research in the area when my daughter came of age to see a dentist and landed on Healthy Smiles. 5 years later and I am still SO happy with my decision! This is the only dentist my daughters have ever been to because we are so happy with this practice. The dentist can be scary, but Healthy Smiles does what they can to make it less so for my girls. There is a welcoming, fun lobby. Kind employees. A TV screen to watch over the procedure chair. They say everything they are doing out loud to keep your kiddos informed. And a couple of fun little prizes for the brave patient when it is done. I 100% recommend this dentist for your kids.
My kids love to come to the dentist here! They are so kind to the kids and gentle. The whole office from the lobby, to brushing and xrays they make it extra fun and special for all ages! My son left yesterday saying how fun it was there and couldn’t wait to go to school and tell his teacher and friends about his visit. Thank you for always checking on our kiddos teeth and making sure they want to keep up with the dentist with all the take home goodies!
We had a wonderful experience here for my daughter's cleaning and tooth extraction. The team was extremely patient and explained the process very clearly. They walked us through each and every step and were very gentle with the tooth extraction. This facility is highly recommended.
Dr Davis and her staff give excellent dental care. My children have been patients for 5 years. We switched from a different dentist that seemed to push unnecessary expensive treatments. Dr Davis is more conservative and presents all treatment options with fair pricing .

How early can orthodontic care begin for kids? For children under the age of seven, we could start treatment to ease alignment concerns using early interceptive orthodontics. At your Frisco, TX, children’s dental practice, we want to help address your child’s misalignment and improve overall oral health, which is why we offer early interceptive orthodontics treatment for kids seven and younger!

Starting Care Before Age Seven

Misalignment could occur in a child’s smile due to issues like thumb sucking or tongue thrusting, or even due to complications with the growth and development of the jaw, or even issues with the eruption of the teeth. Other causes could include the premature loss of baby teeth, which impacts alignment and increases the risk of misalignment and impaction of the permanent teeth. This could lead to issues with the bite, such as an underbite or overbite. Misalignment then grows in severity with time, but we can start care early to help guide the growth of the smile and ease alignment concerns in the teen years.

Our Interceptive Orthodontics

With interceptive orthodontics, we will take detailed images of your child’s smile and use these images and measurements to custom-fit oral appliances that help guide the growth of the smile and minimize misalignment, so kids need less time with braces or aligners in the future. We could use a retainer, which can be fixed in place or removable, to help ease alignment concerns and gaps in the smile. If a baby tooth is lost prematurely, we could use space maintainers to help ensure permanent teeth can arrive without difficulty, keeping smiles more even and healthy.

Continuing Care in Older Kids

These early orthodontics are recommended for kids under the age of seven or at around age seven, when there is a mix of permanent teeth and primary teeth, and we can better assess the alignment and state of the smile. Following these interceptive orthodontics, as kids reach their teen years, we could finish correcting alignment with braces or aligners, shifting the teeth into their proper position.
