I don't do reviews very often. However, this one for Dr. Mila Davis is easy and well-earned. She has taken care of my twin boys for 14 years. She and her staff are always professional and courteous. Now, it's time for my boys to graduate from Pediatric dentistry to the adult world. Thank you for all you have done. Your top-notch!

Dr Davis has been my children’s Dentist since they were 2 years old. I now have a 17 year old that is going to a General Dentist. The compliments he has been getting from his new dentist/hygienist is great to hear as a parent. Example: Rahim had serious work/trauma in his early childhood, however the work performed by Dr. Davis was done so well that one of the compliments were “you cannot tell that there were ever trauma to his mouth/teeth”. We also received compliments on his sealants. I will recommend Dr. Davis any day as a pediatric Dentist because of her people skills and work.

happy child at dental officeKids may have some anxiety around dental visits, especially when their appointments are still a new experience for them. With that said, those anxious feelings can sometimes build to the point of becoming a phobia. For parents who have a child with this level of fear, a routine pediatric dental exam can turn into a source of stress for the entire family. Fortunately, there are ways to assist kids who experience this kind of unease. Our Frisco, TX dental office provides options for safe dental sedation during visits. In doing so, we can manage heightened fears and make it easier for a child to relax and receive the care they need for their smile.

Does Your Child Experience Anxiety Around Dental Visits?

While many kids may be less than thrilled to go in for a dental appointment, some will show signs of odontophobia—a phobia around dental services. This can be a consequence of a poor early experience, but for many there will not be an obvious trigger. If your child’s fear is heightened to the point of making appointments difficult to attend, having the means to safely put them at ease can make visits easier for them and less stressful for you.

Using Safe Dental Sedation During Your Child’s Appointment

With the aid of safe dental sedation, children who find it difficult to experience oral health care can relax and enjoy freedom from their heightened stress levels. Beyond making them more comfortable in the dentist’s chair, this can prevent treatment delays caused by their struggles or attempts to flee the experience. Through sedation, everything from the start of treatment to the work itself can become more pleasant for your little one.

The Importance Of Consistent Smile Care At A Young Age

Pediatric dental visits may be hard for children with anxieties around care, but there are several benefits to consistent appointments that should not be overlooked. Their earliest pediatric dental appointments allow us to check on the early signs of their development and provide guidance to you about home oral hygiene efforts. As they grow older, we continue to check on kids’ development while also providing useful instructions on how they can protect themselves from gum disease and tooth decay. These are important forms of protection, as guidance provided alongside in-office protection against dental decay and gum disease helps children grow up with healthy, confident smiles!
