Celebrating 15 Years Serving Our Community!

Excellent team of professionals. Dr. Davis is so warm and friendly. The dentist can be scary for kids and that was never the case going to Healthy Smiles. 10 out of 10.
Our 2 YO and 13 YO love it here.
Very friendly stuff and very efficient Dr Davis was amazing 🤩
They were very friendly and the played with my kiddo while I filled out paperwork.
Dr Mila Davis is an awesome dentist.....my child went in for a tooth extraction and was very nervous due to a bad experience at a previous practice. My child was treated with positivity and praise and said that she could barely feel anything during the procedure. She left feeling much better about visiting the dentist. Thank you so much. You are appreciated.

As a parent, you are probably used to seeing a general dentist for preventative care or other treatments and procedures. Since it’s been a while since you’ve been to a pediatric dentist, you might be surprised at how much is involved in pediatric dentistry today.

At Healthy Smiles Children’s Dentistry, we provide compassionate and comprehensive care for children of all ages, needs, and backgrounds. Here’s what you may not know about pediatric dentistry and our practice with Dr. Davis.

1. Pediatric dentists can help with childhood dental phobia.Photo by RODNAE Productions: https://www.pexels.com/photo/curly-haired-girl-brushing-teeth-10566470/

Children can be afraid of the dentist before they’ve even met one for the first time. Pediatric dentists want all children to feel safe and comfortable when visiting their dentist’s office. We’ll work with you to help your child be calm and relaxed.

For severe cases of dental phobia, or odontophobia, we can offer sedation dentistry. This intervention helps keep your child from crying or trying to leave the chair during cleanings and other procedures.

2. Your child should start seeing a pediatric dentist around the age of one.

You know that a pediatric dentist sees young children, but do you know how young children should start seeing a dentist? Parents should take their kids to the dentist around the time their first tooth erupts. This can be as early as six to eight months old. If you’re ever in doubt, call us to see if it’s appropriate to make an appointment for your toddler or infant.

We’ll also help you establish oral hygiene habits at home with your young child, so their smile stays beautiful and strong throughout their childhood.

3. Pediatric dentistry includes special needs dentistry.

At Healthy Smiles Children’s Dentistry, we believe that every child deserves the best dental care. We understand that children with special needs may have certain habits that affect their oral health and that they require a knowledgeable and patient pediatric dentist. Don’t hesitate to schedule a visit for your child, no matter their needs.

4. Healthy Smiles Children’s Dentistry is welcoming to all pediatric patients.

Dr. Davis is a female African-American dentist with extensive training and experience. She knows how to create a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment for kids of all ages and backgrounds. Our patients and their parents feel confident and comfortable with the care they receive from Dr. Davis and her team at Healthy Smiles Children’s Dentistry.
